Production & Distributions.

A media institution is an established based organisation that deal in the creation and distribution of advertising, entertainment and information services.
This is how the audience find out about my new film. I am going to market and distribute independently as I don't want to depend on the small local distribution companies, I feel this will make me feel better about my work and i will know exactly what i'm doing and what needs to be done. The main website i am going to use to distribute my film is 'YouTube.' YouTube is a very very very popular website with billions of people worldwide watching videos every minute.

I will also use popular websites like Facebook and Twitter, as information gets spread round very fast and before you know it i will have people waiting to watch my film. It is also a very cheap way to distribute and product my film.

Age Rating.

I have used a website called BBFC to decide the age rating of my film. This stands for British board of film classification.
http://www.bbfc.co.uk/ Here's a link straight to the website.

The British Board of Film Classification is an independent, non-governmental body which has classified cinema films since it was set up in 1912 and videos/ DVDs since the Video Recordings Act was passed in 1984.

Under this Act, the BBFC is obliged to have ‘special regard’ to the likelihood of video works being viewed in the home, and to any harm that may be caused to potential viewers or, through their behaviour, to society by the manner in which the work deals with criminal behaviour, illegal drugs, violent behaviour or incidents, horrific behaviour or incidents, and human sexual activity. In considering these issues, the BBFC needs to be mindful of the possible effect not only on children but also on other vulnerable groups.

This logo means suitable for all ages. It is impossible to upset a child but just to be safe ages four and over. Set with a positive moral framework and doesn't include any violence or horrific behavior.  Suitable for pre-school children to watch on there own.

This logo means the film is suitable to audiences of the ages twelve or over. May upset children under the age of twelve or parents may not find material suitable for there child. Also an adult can take a younger child to go see the film on there own judgement, this isn't highly recommended though. No one younger then twelve can buy or rent a video or DVD classed as a 12 or a 12 and over.

Suitable only for the ages fifteen or over. No one younger the fifteen may be a '15' film in a cinema, also no one younger then fifteen can buy or rent a DVD classified as a '15'

Suitable for only adults. No one under the age of eighteen may see an '18' film in a cinema, also they will not be allowed to rent or buy an '18' film.

To be shown in only specially licensed cinemas or supplied in only licensed sex shops and only to adults that are eighteen years old and over. The ‘R18’ category is a special and legally restricted classification primarily for explicit works of consenting sex or strong fetish material involving adults. Films may only be shown to adults in specially licensed cinemas, and video works may be supplied to adults only in licensed sex shops. ‘R18’ videos may not be supplied by mail order.

Taking all this in to consideration i feel my film will be best suited as age 15. This is because violence will be used and a lot of graphic scenes may upset anyone under the age of fifteen. Mass killings will also be a main part of the film and i feel this is the right age group.
